Throughout the course, the subject of regulation and deregulation (government involvement or intervention) and its impact on intermodal transportation has been discussed. Chapter 15 discusses the role of government on fostering intermodal transport innovations. The author suggests that the US government should be the catalyst for innovations in intermodal transportation. He argues that industry, in a free market economy, has been limited in their ability to deliver these innovations.

Selecting an organisation of your choice and factoring into consideration the various elements of this module, including relevant industry research; students are required to assess the organisation’s current supply network. SECTION (A) – Current Evaluation At a minimum, students are required to: (a) Briefly describe & introduce the organisation and illustrate via supply chain mapping/diagram the current process of engagement across companies, suppliers and customers to bring the product(s) / service(s) to the consumer (including returns where applicable).
