Creative writing provides a way for students to practice critical thinking and develop a stronger understanding of literary criticism while showing creativity and a bit of their own personalities.

Creative writing in response to literature is a way for students to respond to literature in a personal way. Creative writing provides a way for students to practice critical thinking and develop a stronger understanding of literary criticism while showing creativity and a bit of their own personalities. For this creative writing assignment, you will do a character analysis to allow you to get inside the mind of one of the characters.
“Woman Hollering Creek” is told as a third-person narrative, not as a first-person narrative. The difference is that a third-person narrative presents the characters to us in the words of a narrator rather than from the words of the characters themselves. The story contains descriptions such as “Cleofilas did this” or “Cleofilas said that,” but it’s not as if Cleofilas herself is telling everything from their perspective. Of course, sometimes she speaks in the story, but she does not get to tell the story or what she thinking or feeling. It is up to the reader to determine what she might be thinking or feeling.
For this assignment, imagine you are Cleofilas writing a journal entry the events described in the story. Try to get into the mind of Cleofilas. Be imaginative and creative. Pretend you are Cleofilas and have successfully left your marriage with Felice’s help. You will not be retelling the plot of the story; you will be Cleofilas reflecting on what has happened. In this journal entry you can put down whatever thoughts she might have using absolute frankness and honesty.
Criteria:
• Write a minimum 400 words in paragraph form, using Times New Roman 12-point font (or similar) with double spacing. A title page is not required.

When you cite the source be sure to cite the author not the editiers from the textbook.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a literature writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
You are going to write about two works JOHN UPDIKE (1932–2009) A & P 1961 , LANGSTON HUGHES (1902–1967) SALVATION 1940 I included from the book Literature: The human experience, Reading and writing 13th edition. Innocence and experience. Try not focus and summarizing and assume your audience knows about the pieces you are writing about. That does not mean not to give a short summary but not to focus only on the summary. Be sure to identify the works and their authors in the introduction by their first and last name. After that it can be by last name only. Always write in the present tense like Young Goodman says not said. two sources are required and one of them can be the reading. When you cite the source be sure to cite the author not the editiers from the textbook. I also attached an example in the instruction. Always introduce and explain any quotes.
You can choose one to write about: Theme exploration, Explication, Analysis, or comparison and contrast. They also can overlap.
I attached the two readings you need to write about as well as the assignment instruction with how to publish the essay. Please read all attachments because they have the needed information. The first one is only the readings from the book.

So just bring up two points you found interesting in this article and write your response.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a literature writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Question1:
This is a long video, a documentary actually. It’s been around for a bit but is one of the best because of it’s coverage of topics – which, unfortunately, don’t go out of date. I would recommend that you look at the assignment before you watch the video so you can focus on the questions you want to ask and take notes! The questions are in the uploaded file.
Question2:
Gender Socialization Theory: Sex, Gender & Sexuality
This is a fabulous overview as to how we are socialized to be ‘female’ or male’. Read the whole thing! But pay really close attention to these parts: Social Learning Theory p. 154, Parents as Socialization Agents p. 155, Peer Group Socialization, p. 156 and Media Socialization p. 156, as you will be using these points for your first essay! Pick out three of points that you found interesting (or alarming?) and talk about it! Be sure to fold in points from the article to make your case! And, of course, do respond, kindly, to two of your fellow students!
For full points:
Read the whole article (because you are going to want to use it for your essay) but focus on the pages above.
Pick out three points from the article that you found interesting or alarming!
Write a minimum of three sentences for each three points.
Respond to two classmates, a minimum of two sentences for each response.
Qeustion3:
Chat: #12 “Why Does Gender Matter: Countering Stereotypes with Young Children
3232 unread replies.3232 replies.
This reading is a quick and easy one – giving you an overview as to how gender is “constructed” in our society and the impact it has on girls. So just bring up two points you found interesting in this article and write your response.
For full points:
Pick out two points that you found interesting – you can be casual in your approach to “chats”!
Write a minimum of three sentences for each point.
Respond to one of your classmates’ commentary!
Qeustion4:
Reading/Discussion: #8 Considering Transgender People in Education: A Gender-Complex Approach
11 unread reply.11 reply.
This is the start of Rands’ Abstract for this complex article:
Schools serve as a setting in which students come to understand gender, but transgender students (those who transgress societal gender norms) are largely left out of discussions of education. The high level of harassment that transgender students face poses sizable obstacles to school success. If the field of education is committed to equity and social justice, then teacher education programs must prepare educators to teach gender in more complex ways that take into consideration the existence and needs of transgender people.
Use the above for a guideline to your commentary. You decide what what you want to talk about in article. Be sure to tie in the article to your commentary! And don’t forget to reach out and comment on two of your classmates responses!
For full points:
Discuss something from this article, using the quote above as a general guideline.
Back up what you want to talk about by using specific points from the article.
Write a paragraph – a minimum of eight sentences.
Respond to two classmates – a minimum of three sentences for each one.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a literature writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
In the Middle Ages, women had few rights under the law; they were legally dependent upon their fathers and husbands. Marriages were often arranged based on the economic advantages for a family, and entering a monastery was the only choice available to women who could not or did not wish to marry. The place of women in society and conceptions of ideal womanhood were dictated by the Church, which emphasized the authority of men over women (a particular interpretation of the writings of St. Paul), and which contrasted the conniving and sensual Eve against the Virgin Mary, a symbol of chastity and motherhood. Nevertheless, women did have a great deal of responsibility within their families and communities. While women had primarily domestic responsibilities, such as preparing food, caring for children, and tending livestock, rural women would join their husbands in the fields during busy times of the year, such as planting and harvest. Women living in towns would assist husbands and sons with metalwork, leatherwork, or running shops or inns. Many women participated in cottage industries, such as brewing, baking, or creating and selling textiles. Women of higher social classes would often exercise authority over an estate or region if their husbands or older sons were absent due to untimely death or war. The life of a monastic was an attractive alternative to some women, as it meant a life of contemplation, prayer, and communal work, free from the dangers of childbirth or an unhappy marriage.
Therefore, women living during the Middle Ages were more skilled and their lives more varied than we might assume. In this assignment, you will explore representations of women and women’s roles in two of the literary works read this week.
In your paper,
Develop an introduction with thesis statement that presents an argument about how women’s roles and status are represented in two literary texts from the late Middle Ages.
Analyze how each literary text depicts women and women’s roles and status.
Evaluate how the religious context of the Middle Ages influences depictions of women as they either affirm or defy established expectations and morality.
Determine whether the depictions of women are real and fair, or if they are filtered through the perspective of male writers and male-governed institutions.
Incorporate two scholarly sources into the discussion.
Requirements: 4 Full Pages Times New Roman Size 12 Font Double-Spaced APA Format Excluding the Title and Reference Pages
Please be sure to include an introduction with a clear thesis statement in the last sentence of the introduction paragraph along with a conclusion
Please be sure to carefully follow the instructions
No plagiarism & No Course Hero & No Chegg. The assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool
Please be sure to include at least one in-text citation in each body paragraph
Please be sure to use sources that are credible or scholarly
