This activity is designed to help educators see the school environment through the worldview of a child
who has experienced trauma. Pretend for a day that you are a student who sees the world as a dangerous place, where people cannot be
trusted, and you are not safe. Try experiencing a typical school day from this vantage point. What do you notice in each of the

Conversations about Learning
The blogosphere today is replete with conversations and debates related to learning theory. Discussion 3 (Week 5)
1.Smaldino et al. (2019) discuss Web 2.0 tools and social media. Using specific examples, describe how you use or could use at least two of these resources in your own workplace to assist learning. Supplement your discussion with Section 8.6 from Bate’s.
2.Briefly discuss the critical issues associated with distance learning pointed out by Smaldino et al. (2019) in Chapter 7 pp. 148-150. Then relate these issues with your own work setting or experience.
The purpose of this assignment is to assess an existing resource for learning to decide whether you recommend it or not for classroom use. Your classroom can be online, on-site, or hybrid. The resource can be any of the following media types: video, audio, visual, text, game/simulation, or Web 2.0.
To complete your assignment, you will
1.Select an objective, learning outcome, or standard addressed in a lesson that you teach or plan to teach.
2.Find and preview/listen an existing resource that you would integrate in the lesson that you teach, or plan to teach, to enhance learning and address the objective, outcome, or standard.
3.Use the corresponding Selection Rubric from Smaldino et al. (2019) to assess the appropriateness of the selected resource and decide whether you recommend it or not for your classroom use.
4.Annotate and analyze the findings of your assessment and prepare an argument.
